About Ella
I'm currently wrapping up my freshman year at Yale University, where I balance being a varsity field hockey player with my studies in political science. My days are pretty busy - between classes, field hockey practice and games, and my various campus commitments, there's always something going on. I'm passionate about staying involved beyond just athletics and academics. I serve on the strategy and product board of the Yale Daily News, where I work on the business side of our campus newspaper. I'm also active in the Yale Women's Leadership Initiative Social Committee and serve as a first-year peer liaison on the Yale Women's Athletic Council, helping to bridge the gap between first-year athletes and the broader athletic community. Outside of my structured commitments, I love art, running, reading, and cooking - these hobbies give me a creative outlet and help me decompress. I'm also committed to giving back; I volunteer with the Mandy Schwartz organization, which organizes bone marrow drives to help save lives after a Yale student died because no one was a match. I'm still exploring my future path, but I'm thinking about grad school after Yale, either business school or law school, as I continue to test out my interests and figure out where I can make the biggest impact.
