Her Story
About Ellen
A previous boss of mine started MMOSIS consulting. We provide accounting services - from staff accountant through CFO - to mission driven organizations (primarily rural hospitals and nonprofits). We have a team of 10 people and can fill in for whatever roles/duties they need done. We are three years old, and about to hire our 11th employee, which feels like a level of growth that is both challenging and sustainable. Every day is a new challenge - whether helping a client or building our own firm - and I love that!

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I wanted to give back to the community, and I think a lot of the ways that we think of giving back - like teacher, or nurse, or social worker - just weren't a good fit for my personality. Accounting was a good fit for me with my personality, and then I was able to find a way to kind of bring that into the field of giving back, even though that's not a career path you typically think of in that way. All the years I worked in a nonprofit or in local government, I almost felt like that was my job and I got paid, but I almost felt like that was like volunteering in a way too. Even now, we're doing the consulting, but we're still working with those organizations, so I just feel like I'm really giving back.
