About Emerald
Emerald Salazar serves as Community Relations and Lifestyle Director for a Del Webb community in Melbourne, Florida. She started in this position in 2023, initially in a different community before transitioning to her current one in March. With more than eight years of experience in the events field from her time in the Philippines, she previously worked as a lifestyle director at Del Webb Twin Lakes, handling newsletters, event planning, execution, and vendor relationships. Prior to that, she was a lifestyle writer for Manila Times and a freelance writer, and she also managed seasonal events for SM Super Malls. She holds a degree in mass communications with a minor in print journalism from St. Scholastica's College in the Philippines. Her passion for creating experiences and connecting people in the community drives her work.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to find your passion and believe in yourself before anyone else does. Don't be afraid to try, don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to ask questions because those questions will help you grow. Try to pursue opportunities that will challenge you because growth begins when you try to do anything outside of your comfort zone.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The value that I try to keep doing is just being kind and listening to everyone. Everyone fights a battle and not everyone will be happy, but they just need an ear to listen to even rant. Being kind is the biggest value that I keep on practicing.
