About Emilee
Emilee Busby serves as a researcher at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in Baltimore, Maryland, where she contributes to the development of digital interventions addressing the intersection of intimate partner violence and opioid use disorder. Her work builds on her prior role at the World Health Organization's global mental health center, where she spent two years and eight months focusing on similar issues in Mozambique. With a background in English from Vassar College, Busby brings strong writing skills to her health policy work, producing policy briefs and advocating for improved diagnostic criteria, such as integrating complex PTSD and PTSD into a spectrum model. She is currently pursuing an MSPH degree at Johns Hopkins with the support of the MSPH Health Policy Scholarship and holds a marketing certification obtained right after high school as well as an in-progress certification in public health, human rights, and law. Busby is actively involved in outreach through the QuestBridge program, assisting low-income high school students with college applications and scholarships, reflecting her own journey as a QuestBridge Scholar who received departmental and general honors at Vassar along with additional academic awards.
