Her Interview
Ten minutes with Emilie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I have to give a shout out to my parents, of course. They instilled a very strong work ethic, fairness, taking responsibility for yourself. My mother's an artist, my father's a lawyer. I've gotten a little bit from each of them. I have a strong work ethic, and I love solving problems.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My father told me, energize, don't paralyze. When faced with difficult situations, try and energize and dive in and figure it out rather than stalling or paralyzing. Also, figuring out how you recharge, what fills your battery, what fills your soul, because you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of your career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid. Be yourself, be strong. Be able to feel confident and command the respect that we all deserve as humans, regardless of gender or race or situation. Both expect that from others but also offer it to others.
