About Emily
Emily Binkley serves as Assistant Marketing Manager in the marketing industry, with expertise in e-commerce and digital assets. She previously worked at Fruit of the Loom on the ladies' intimates and apparel team, overseeing how products lived online and in-store while managing day-to-day needs for major retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, Kohl's, and Target. Binkley is transitioning to a new role at Conair starting the following Monday, where she will manage creative digital assets on e-commerce pages including imagery, PDP pages, and product descriptions. She began her education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York before transferring to and graduating from Western Kentucky University. Binkley has volunteered with United Way, a local nonprofit in Bowling Green. She attributes her success to her mother, who instilled from a young age the belief that if you can think it you can do it and that hard work is required to achieve goals, as illustrated by a childhood story of racing boys in football. Binkley advises young women entering the industry to stick with their dreams, work hard through challenging positions, and ensure moves align with long-term career goals rather than settling for what is easy.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Emily
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mom who instilled in me from a young age that if you can think it you can do it and if you want something you have to work for it. She always pushed me to believe in myself and not be afraid like in the story where she made me race the boys in football instead of skipping and I beat them all. That mentality of working hard overcoming challenges and continuing to keep going is what drives me.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Honestly this sounds very cliche to say but I think everybody goes through this time period of am I gonna stick with my dreams am I gonna stick with what I want to be doing or am I going to kind of settle for what's easy. I'm somebody that at the end of the day I know that if you work hard you get what you put into things and a part of that is just sticking it out and working through positions that you don't want to be in but always trying to keep in mind does this get me to my end goal. There's a difference between being adaptable and making sure that it makes sense and it needs to align with your career direction.
