About Emily
Emily Brickler serves as Senior Leader of Digital Commerce, Commercial, and Operational Enablement at Hussmann in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, which she recently attained through promotion at the director level, she identifies key metrics across departments, redefines processes that are no longer scalable, and works cross-departmentally with IT and global sourcing to prioritize initiatives that better serve customers and enable employees. Brickler entered the commercial refrigeration manufacturing and distribution industry in 2018 after being laid off from her previous role at C.H. Robinson, where she had spent about 10 years advancing through positions she helped create based on identified business needs. She holds two undergraduate degrees in business, one in marketing and one in international business, earned in 2010 and 2011, along with a master's degree in engineering focused on industrial distribution from Texas A&M, where she finished at the top of her class. Additional education includes continuing studies at Lindenwood University and participation in Gallup leadership programs. Brickler is a national debate champion from her time at Boris High School and maintains memberships in Phi Kappa Phi, the Women in Grocery Association, and HARDI. She contributes to philanthropic efforts through board service with the American Cancer Society's Champions of Hope gala in the St. Louis area and volunteer work with Be The Match/NMDP, for which she was recognized in 2023 for registering approximately 1,200 people in the stem cell registry.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Absolutely go into this industry. It is recession-proof because we support grocery stores and everybody eats. It has been around for over a century and a half with lots of opportunity for new ideas and perspectives. Manufacturing has traditionally been a good old boys club but is hungry for change and intentionally becoming more inclusive, offering real opportunity to grow and make an impact in an industry that will never go away.
