Ten minutes with Emily

01What do you attribute your success to?

The early years of my career where I worked really hard because I was eager and wanted to make a difference. It came at a cost but shaped my trajectory and set me up for success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Loyalty pays. If you're working with the right people and doing the right thing, be loyal and it will pay off in the quality of your work life and personal life.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Be cautious not to take on too much too soon without proper mentorship, as eager BCBAs can be taken advantage of with promotions that lack reciprocity.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities in clinical director roles, telehealth/remote work, quality assurance roles, and clinical leadership positions. Growth allowing BCBAs to exercise niche skill sets.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity. Making sure my motives and my word align with the people and companies I work with. Trust is non-negotiable.
