Her Story

About Emily

Teaching has been the highlight of my career. It's fulfilling when former students recognize me and fondly remember me as their English teacher!

I have been a special education teacher for 33 years in junior high school! Throughout my career, I've taught English, reading, math, social studies, science, and even health. In addition to Special Education K-12, I'm certified to teach mid-level English and mathematics. I've worked in various settings, including learning support and emotional support classrooms. I am involved in my school’s after-school program for at-risk students, and I provide special education support to our Cyber Academy students in addition to my regular teaching schedule. I love teaching reading in grade 6!
