Her Interview
Ten minutes with Emily
01What do you attribute your success to?
Definitely the love and support of my family and friends, along with working hard. I wouldn't be where I am without working hard, but working hard would be nothing if there was nobody to share it with. Also the teachers that believed in me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
It sounds cliche, but do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do it. It'll be one of the most rewarding things you've ever done for yourself and for other people. It's going to be difficult and not without trial, but you do belong here, and don't ever let anybody make you believe differently.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI is both one of our biggest challenges and one of our biggest opportunities. Utilized correctly, it helps me do my job more easily and more efficiently, but people are replacing me with AI. Hopefully people value the face-to-face interaction of a real person.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and authenticity. Honesty, compassion and empathy.
