Ten minutes with Emily
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the strong foundation my parents instilled in me, along with the inner work I’ve committed to over time. Their support taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of aiming high, while my own personal growth has helped me develop self-awareness, confidence, and perseverance. A consistent desire to do my best, even when things feel challenging or uncertain, has shaped how I approach both my career and personal growth.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to ask for more and to start before you feel fully ready. As a woman, learning to advocate for yourself and take initiative is essential. You don’t need everything figured out at the beginning, growth comes from taking action, learning as you go, and refining your approach over time. Progress matters more than perfection, and confidence is built through experience.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Walk into every room knowing you deserve to be there. Confidence is not about having all the answers, it’s about trusting your ability to learn, adapt, and grow. Be willing to speak up, ask questions, and take up space, even when the room feels intimidating. The financial industry rewards initiative, consistency, and resilience, and women who believe in their value early on position themselves for long-term success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Wealth management and financial services remain largely sales-driven and male dominated, which can feel challenging for women entering the industry. At the same time, this creates a powerful opportunity. Women bring strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building strengths that are essential to success in this field. As more clients seek advisors they trust and relate to, there is significant opportunity for women to thrive, lead, and reshape the future of the industry.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value constant growth and self-improvement in every area of my life. I believe in leading with kindness and empathy while remaining confident, assertive, and clear about my boundaries. This balance shapes how I show up in my work, relationships, and personal development.
