Emily Flores

Dr. Emily Flores is an experienced educator and administrative leader based in Houston, Texas, dedicated to driving continuous improvement and educational excellence. Currently serving as the Principal at Southwest Public Schools' College and Career Preparatory Academy, she leverages decades of insight to strengthen academic programs, support teacher development, and build strong community partnerships. Her focus centered on adaptive change and systemic optimization has consistently expanded learning opportunities and equitable access for diverse student populations.
With over 24 years of experience as a bilingual educator across urban school districts in Massachusetts, Florida, and Texas, Dr. Flores has held diverse roles including History Teacher, Department Head, Academic Dean, and Associate Principal. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Education from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, as well as a Master of Science in Professional Studies in Education and a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Capella University. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to cultivating strong instructional leadership, coaching educators, and fostering student success through systemic growth.
