Ten minutes with Emily

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, a deep commitment to growth, and a genuine passion for developing people, but at the heart of it, it truly starts with the example set for me early on. I was raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly and never stopped advocating for a better life for her children and also for herself. She showed me what it means to work hard, stand firm in your values, and go after what you believe in, no matter the obstacles. She taught me how to use my voice, even when it shakes, and to never settle for less.

That foundation shaped how I show up as a leader. I’ve never been one to settle for the "status quo", or "That's how it's always been done". I believe in pushing boundaries, embracing challenges, and continuously growing. Some of my biggest breakthroughs have come from stepping into roles before I felt fully ready and trusting myself to rise to the occasion.

I also attribute my success to investing in others. I believe when you empower people—especially women—to find their voice, build confidence, and step into leadership, you create lasting impact. Success becomes bigger than individual achievement; it becomes about the lives you influence and the opportunities you help create.

At my core, I lead with both heart and accountability, which means holding high standards, staying grounded in purpose, and always striving to create a path not just for myself, but for others to follow.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “Don’t wait until you feel ready. Go after it and grow into it.”

That mindset has shaped my entire career. Some of the biggest opportunities I’ve had came at moments when I didn’t feel 100% prepared, but I chose to step forward anyway. I’ve learned that confidence isn’t something you wait for, but rather something you build through action.

It also taught me not to limit myself or play small. As women, we can sometimes feel like we need to check every box before taking the next step. The truth is, growth happens in the stretch, not in the comfort zone.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to own your voice early and don’t be afraid to take up space. This is a fast-paced, results-driven field, and confidence will set you apart. Always remember that confidence comes from showing up, speaking up, and trusting yourself, even when you’re still learning.

Learn the sales side, understand operations, and never underestimate the power of building genuine relationships. This industry is built on trust and connection just as much as it is on results.

Also, don’t wait for permission to grow. Raise your hand for opportunities, ask questions, and step into roles before you feel completely ready. The women who advance are the ones who are willing to stretch, take risks, and stay resilient through challenges.

And finally, find leaders who inspire you and become one. Lift other women up, support each other, and remember that your success is even more meaningful when you’re helping others rise with you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the industry right now is how quickly it's evolving. Patient expectations are higher than ever. They’re looking for personalized, results-driven treatments, seamless experiences, and complete transparency. At the same time, the market is becoming more saturated, which makes consistency, quality, and differentiation across teams and locations more critical than ever.

A unique challenge within our field is successfully bridging the gap between the medical and sales sides of the business. You have highly skilled clinical teams focused on safety and outcomes, and sales teams focused on education, trust-building, and conversion. When those two worlds aren’t aligned, the patient experience suffers. But when they are in sync, it creates something incredibly powerful—a patient journey that is both clinically sound and deeply personalized.

For me, the opportunity is in leadership, meaning creating cultures where clinical excellence and sales excellence are not competing priorities, but complementary strengths. When you align those two, you don’t just drive results. You build trust, elevate standards, and create a lasting impact on both patients and the people delivering their care.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are integrity, accountability, resilience, and growth.

Integrity is at the core of everything I do. Whether I’m leading a team, supporting a patient experience, or making difficult decisions, I believe in doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest path. Trust is built through consistency, honesty, and follow-through, even when it's tough.

Accountability goes hand-in-hand with that. I believe in holding myself to a high standard and owning both the wins and the challenges. It’s not just about results, it’s about taking responsibility, being reliable, and creating a culture where others feel empowered to do the same.

Resilience has shaped both my career and who I am as a person. I was raised to work hard, push through challenges, and stay committed to what I believe in. That mindset has carried me through moments of uncertainty and growth, and it’s something I strive to model for others.

And finally, Growth--both personally and professionally. I believe we’re always evolving, and I’m passionate about creating environments where people feel empowered to learn, take risks, and become the best version of themselves.
