What do you attribute your success to?
I credit much of my success to the values my family instilled in me growing up: the belief that anything is possible through hard work, focus, and treating others with genuine respect. In my early twenties, after the loss of my Dad, I entered the construction and transportation industries to support myself through college via a work-based program. At 21, I worked full-time for the Ohio Department of Transportation, driving a snowplow overnight while attending college classes in the evenings. Those demanding years built my resilience, determination, and quiet confidence, proving to myself that I could rise above challenges and silence the doubts of others. Those experiences solidified my conviction that obstacles can become opportunities when met with perseverance and self-belief. Today, my drive is equally fueled by a deep passion for empowering others - particularly women in male-prevalent fields, and for creating environments where people can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't wait until you're 100% ready. Taking action, even with uncertainty, accelerates growth. Calculated risk is real. You don't have to have it completely figured out - but you do need to take action every single day to get you closer to your goals.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Keep swinging. Not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, but the key is to get back up, keep trying, keep swinging, keep knocking on doors, and keep believing in yourself. Cultivate such fierce, almost delusional self-belief that it drowns out anyone else's doubt. Perseverance is everything. The tough days, the closed doors - they're not the end; they're often the setup for your biggest blessings. Keep knocking, because one day that door will swing wide open, and what’s behind it will be ten thousand times better than anything you imagined when the last opportunity slipped away.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Artificial Intelligence represents a powerful opportunity for Executive Assistants (EAs), not a threat. Rather than replacing the role, AI acts as a multiplier that automates repetitive, time-consuming tasks such as scheduling meetings, drafting emails, transcribing and summarizing meetings, managing inboxes, and conducting initial research. By utilizing AI and its efficiencies, EA's are able to focus on higher-value, more strategic work.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
People have always been at the heart of everything I do - my daily decisions, my work, my purpose. Whether empowering women in male-prevalent industries, supporting men, children, or anyone else, lifting others up is at the core of how I operate. I’ve long believed you don’t need to be the loudest voice in the room; you just need to be the one who is consistently there to help others rise when they need it most. It's doing what is right, even when it's difficult.
I’m also deeply passionate about fitness and wellness. I firmly believe in the inseparable link between a strong mind and a strong body - challenge one, and the other grows stronger. In my experience, those who regularly push themselves physically tend to rise professionally as well. Your mind and your mindset are among your greatest strengths. Shift your mindset, and shift your life! For me, fitness and wellness have always been my sanctuary. A space to reset, refocus, and recharge so I can keep raising the bar for myself and those around me.
