About Emily

Emily Paucar is currently a university student entering her second year, where she is pursuing human biology and minoring in economics with the goal of entering the business side of her field. Her academic path has been shaped by personal experiences with family members facing conditions such as prediabetes, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases, leading her to explore alternative medicine and holistic approaches to health. Through an internship in stem cell research at Columbia University, she observed how lifestyle elements like stress, diet, and physical activity can impact genetic sequences and contribute to disease. She has also gained experience as an assistant teacher at Chisan, a cultural Chinese education program for young Chinese American students, and is developing the Emerald Project, a community initiative aimed at empowering women through weekly meetings and mutual support. Additionally, her participation in the NUCOM program during high school sparked her interest in business, networking, and professional empowerment, while a pitch competition for L'Oreal helped refine her business thinking and teamwork skills. Podcasts on health and psychology have further influenced her holistic perspective on life.
