Emily Roper is a dynamic sales leader, entrepreneur, and emerging innovator in wearable technology, currently serving as Director of Sales at Guaneri Consulting, a leading cloud engineering and AI advisory firm, while simultaneously building her own startup, SoBa, focused on human connection and social wellness. Since launching the company in July, Emily has spearheaded the development of a wearable bracelet designed to address social isolation and promote authentic interaction. The device leverages LED signaling, GPS, and Bluetooth technology to help individuals connect in real time, whether in recovery communities, among parents of children with autism, or in broader social contexts. Developed in collaboration with University of Texas engineering students, the product has already drawn venture capital interest, reflecting Emily’s ability to turn innovative concepts into tangible, market-ready solutions.

Emily’s professional journey is defined by a rare combination of scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and relationship-driven business acumen. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Missouri and initially pursued physician assistant studies, but her passion for meaningful client engagement led her to medical device sales. In this space, Emily honed her skills in strategic growth, territory development, and consultative sales while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Her transition into corporate cloud engineering and consulting further broadened her perspective, enabling her to guide clients through complex modernization, AI, and cloud initiatives with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and measurable business value. Across every role, Emily’s approach is grounded in people-first leadership, authenticity, and strategic impact.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Emily is deeply committed to community engagement, advocacy, and personal growth. She volunteers with Austin Pets Alive, cares for her three-legged cat, Happy, and mentors emerging professionals interested in medical sales and entrepreneurship. Openly sharing her journey to sobriety and self-advocacy, she inspires others to embrace resilience, intentionality, and meaningful connection. Emily’s work embodies a unique synthesis of technology, empathy, and leadership, reflecting her mission to create innovative solutions that foster human connection, enhance well-being, and deliver lasting societal impact.
