Her Story

About Emily

I graduated in 2023 with a bachelor's in animal science with a concentration in the dairy industry and a minor in ag business management from Michigan State University, one of the first graduating classes of their new dairy program. After dropping out and returning due to a faith decision to serve God, I switched to the dairy industry in 2021 following my husband's job move. I completed an internship at Rosie Lane Holsteins in Wisconsin. Now at Cattle Care, I serve as account executive closing deals, handling the full sales process, and managing strategic partnerships. My work focuses on milk quality using video analytics to help farmers monitor employees and improve metrics like somatic cell counts, which has led to impressive results for clients.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Emily

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success is all God, but He sent many people to help including my husband who supported me through everything, my professors at Michigan State, the dairymen who opened their doors, my family, and my current boss Artem Timinov who teaches me about sales and relationships.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always be open-minded and patient because you never know what's going on with others so don't jump to conclusions. Talk it through and don't be afraid to say I don't know.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid to be yourself but also be respectful. Do what's best for you at the end of the day, take offers into consideration, and stay open-minded about anything that comes your way.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Milk prices are struggling so dairymen's margins are tighter making it difficult to get meetings, but when they do see how the product works and use it fully they see great improvements in their metrics which is very rewarding.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, clarity, transparency, sticking true to your word, helping where you can, and showing up for God by doing my best for Him.
