About Emily

Emily Smith is a Realtor with the Realtors Association in Greater Cincinnati and a member of the National Association of Realtors. With 3 and a half years in real estate, she specializes in helping women, older adults downsizing their homes, and first-time homebuyers. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Purdue University. Before entering real estate, she worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over 18 years, running her own business at a local recreation center. Within just 2 years in real estate, she achieved top 20 percent status at her brokerage and capped, meaning she retains 100 percent of her commissions. Smith attributes her success to her faith in God and the support of her husband and others who helped her along the way. She volunteers with youth at her church and values service, community, family, and investing in the next generation. Her advice to young women entering the field is to persevere, collaborate, ask questions, walk in humility and grace, and remember that if you want it, you can do it.

Ten minutes with Emily

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to God first and foremost, and to the people who have helped me along the way, especially my husband who supported me when I wasn't getting paid until closing deals. I couldn't have done it without that support system and the collaboration with others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to do what you love. If you're doing what you love and what you would do anyway even if you weren't getting paid, then it doesn't feel like a job. Doing anything that you're passionate about makes it fulfilling.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering real estate is to persevere, collaborate with others, ask questions, and don't be afraid to go after answers if you don't know them. Always walk in humility and grace. If you want it, you can do it!

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges right now involve collaborating with AI and staying positive in a technological age. The key opportunity is remembering that we're all just people and coming back to human connection as an anchor, not getting lost in computers and paperwork, and always remembering your why.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My faith in God is number one. Service to others is huge, as is community, family, and investing in the youth for generational impact. I volunteer with youth at my church because that alignment between my values and actions matters deeply.
