Her Story
About Emily
Emily (Frazier) Spear serves as Technical Enablement Manager at Bynder, a global SaaS and cloud-based technology company specializing in digital asset management. With approximately eight years of experience in the technology industry across two organizations, she has developed a strong background in sales enablement, customer onboarding, project management, sales operations, and cross-functional collaboration. In her current role, Spear leads sales enablement initiatives across seven departments, helping align teams, strengthen processes, and create effective strategies that support business growth. Her ability to connect internal teams with customer expectations has become a defining strength throughout her career.
Prior to joining Bynder, Spear spent nearly seven years with Brandfolder, where she advanced through a series of roles spanning sales development, marketing business development, implementation, project management, and enterprise project management. Drawing on her customer onboarding experience, she built the sales enablement function from the ground up at the startup, establishing processes that helped bridge communication and operational gaps between internal teams and customers. Her areas of expertise include collaboration, adaptability, multitasking, data-driven coaching, sales operations, global event planning, stakeholder relationship management, and cross-functional enablement. Among her professional accomplishments, she earned President’s Club recognition and, shortly after joining Bynder, successfully planned and executed a global sales kickoff event within two months.
Spear attributes her success to ambition, hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to establishing credibility and earning respect in a traditionally male-dominated technology environment. She approaches leadership with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to support others, while remaining focused on continuous learning and professional growth. Beyond her career, Spear is committed to giving back through volunteer work with Make-A-Wish and Children’s Hospital and through mentoring young women interested in pursuing careers in technology. Her professional journey reflects a dedication to building strong relationships, creating meaningful opportunities for others, and advancing with purpose in the evolving SaaS and cloud technology industry.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Emily
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to ambition, hard work, dependability, and a genuine commitment to excelling in my field. Working in a traditionally male-dominated industry has motivated me to demonstrate my expertise, earn the trust of stakeholders, and consistently deliver meaningful results. I approach challenges with determination, take opportunities seriously, and remain focused on finding ways to improve team performance. My ability to collaborate across departments, adapt to changing priorities, and manage complex projects has been instrumental in my growth. I believe success comes from being prepared, accountable, and willing to step up when needed, while building strong professional relationships grounded in trust, communication, and mutual respect.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to approach every opportunity with preparation, intention, and confidence. I believe an interview should be viewed as a two-way evaluation, where you are not only demonstrating your qualifications but also determining whether the company, team, leadership, and culture align with your goals and values. I encourage professionals, particularly women, to recognize opportunities, advocate for themselves, and build credibility through consistent, high-quality work. Staying flexible, being open to growth, and pursuing roles where your skills and values align can create meaningful and sustainable career opportunities.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the technology and SaaS industry is to prepare thoroughly, take opportunities seriously, and trust in your ability to succeed, even in environments where women may be underrepresented. Demonstrate your expertise, build credibility and trust with stakeholders, and communicate confidently about the value you bring to an organization. I also encourage you to approach interviews as two-way conversations by asking thoughtful questions and evaluating whether the company, culture, team, and opportunities align with your goals. Most importantly, remain persistent, collaborative, adaptable, and willing to advocate for yourself. You have earned your seat at the table, so have confidence in your abilities and the contributions you can make.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field is maintaining alignment across departments while keeping pace with changing customer expectations and ensuring sales teams have the right information, tools, and coaching to succeed. In global SaaS organizations, this becomes even more complex as teams work across different regions, functions, and customer environments. I see significant opportunities to improve performance through stronger data analysis, closer collaboration between sales and marketing, targeted coaching, and more effective communication. My experience in customer onboarding has reinforced the importance of aligning sales commitments with customer expectations and ensuring internal processes support a positive customer experience. I also believe there is an ongoing opportunity to build credibility, especially for women in traditionally male-dominated areas of technology, by creating space to demonstrate expertise, contribute to strategic initiatives, and grow into leadership roles. Personally, I look forward to continuing to develop my leadership capabilities, pursue director and vice president-level opportunities, and mentor others along the way.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my professional and personal life are loyalty, dependability, kindness, ambition, accountability, and continuous growth. I strive to be someone others can rely on, whether I am supporting colleagues, working with stakeholders, or helping teams navigate challenges. I believe kindness and professionalism can coexist with ambition, and that meaningful success comes from remaining authentic while continuously developing new skills and perspectives. I also value trust and collaboration, because strong relationships are built through open communication, consistency, and mutual respect. My involvement in body positivity initiatives reflects my belief in confidence, self-worth, and encouraging others to recognize their own value. Ultimately, I believe in pursuing opportunities that align with my values, support personal and professional development, and contribute to long-term fulfillment.
