About Emily
Emily Talbott is a Talent Advisor, Early Careers at Ramboll, a global environmental consulting company, where she leads early-career recruiting strategies across the United States. Her responsibilities include managing internship and entry-level recruitment initiatives, developing university partnerships, coordinating campus recruiting events, and designing programs that provide meaningful experiences for interns. She collaborates with hiring managers and business leaders to build diverse talent pipelines, improve candidate experiences, and align recruitment strategies with organizational workforce needs. Emily began her career in management and operations before transitioning into talent acquisition in 2019, gaining experience in recruiting and talent sourcing with organizations including Amazon and Knowledge Services.
Emily earned her bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University after initially studying sports management at the University of Indianapolis. Although she originally envisioned a career in the sports industry, her professional journey led her to discover a passion for recruiting, relationship-building, and helping emerging professionals identify career opportunities. Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Emily is deeply committed to youth development and agricultural education through 4-H. A longtime llama exhibitor and livestock judge, she now serves as a volunteer superintendent for a local llama program in Hamilton County, Indiana, supporting approximately 70 young participants. She hopes to strengthen the program through mentorship, workshops, and future improvements while continuing to expand her experience in livestock judging.
Emily attributes much of her success to her parents, the mentors who have encouraged her, and her determination to remain open to new opportunities. Inspired particularly by her father's resilience and positive outlook through significant health challenges, she strives to approach life with perseverance, gratitude, and confidence. She encourages young professionals to recognize their strengths and weaknesses, build meaningful connections through LinkedIn, seek mentorship, and volunteer in their communities. Outside of work, Emily enjoys golf, Purdue athletics, and participating in llama-related activities. Through her professional work and community involvement, she remains dedicated to helping young people build confidence, develop their potential, and discover opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Ten minutes with Emily
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my father, whose positivity and strength throughout his double lung transplant continue to inspire me. His energy motivates me to maintain a positive outlook and persevere through challenges. I also surround myself with successful, uplifting people and draw inspiration from Simon Sinek’s teachings and Mel Robbins’ The Let Them Theory, which has been life-changing for me.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to stay open-minded, understand your strengths and weaknesses, and embrace both. Put yourself out there by networking, connecting with people on LinkedIn, and not being afraid to send that first message. Volunteering in your community is also a valuable way to build relationships, gain experience, and open doors to new opportunities for success.
