							Emily Tisdale, MNLM, is an accomplished nonprofit leader and the West Coast Manager for Team for Cures at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). In this role, she oversees fundraising walks and events across cities including Scottsdale, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, while supporting nationwide initiatives. Emily has been instrumental in developing MMRF’s peer-to-peer fundraising programs, helping campaigns such as the virtual 5K exceed their goals by raising over $120,000. Her work reflects a deep commitment to accelerating research and supporting patients and caregivers affected by multiple myeloma.
Emily earned her Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State University, complementing her Bachelor of Business Administration from San Francisco State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Her academic focus on business management, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging has informed her leadership style, enabling her to effectively manage diverse teams while advancing strategic initiatives. Emily’s education has also strengthened her expertise in fundraising, strategic communications, and organizational development.
Before joining MMRF, Emily gained extensive experience in campaign development and people management through roles at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Boudin, and Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics. Her career has been marked by a commitment to community outreach, volunteer engagement, and employee development. Beyond her professional work, Emily has volunteered with organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and Shepherd’s Gate, demonstrating a longstanding dedication to philanthropy and social impact.

I attribute my success to the mentorship of Roberta Barbieri, who encouraged me to think outside the box and confidently pursue my career goals.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life center on mentorship, service, and making a meaningful impact. I am deeply committed to motivating young professionals to explore careers in the nonprofit sector, drawing on my background in business administration and nonprofit leadership to guide and inspire them. My experiences working with emerging talent have reinforced the importance of education, mentorship, and professional growth in shaping successful careers. Equally important to me is giving back to causes that resonate personally, such as my involvement with the Alzheimer’s Association and the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). These experiences remind me that empathy, dedication, and a commitment to meaningful work are essential values that drive both personal fulfillment and professional success. Overall, I strive to lead with integrity, purpose, and a sense of responsibility—ensuring that my efforts empower others while contributing positively to the organizations and communities I serve.
