Her Interview
Ten minutes with Emma
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think just the... I mean, professionally, obviously, I am continuing to educate myself on, you know, like, the new and up-and-comings in the marketing world. And I love to just kind of be on top of all of the changes and, make a difference in the brand that I'm representing. And, especially in my current role, is making a difference in the individual businesses of each one of our franchisees. And then I think, personally, I'm a mother of a [AGE], Crazy... son, who I is the light of my life, but he's definitely a big successor for me for, personally, for sure. It's just being a mom.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I would say the best career advice that I've received, is to Stick to my gut... being able to speak up, be heard, and be able to voice your opinions and your thoughts. It may be the right choice.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell a young female, that you definitely have to have the drive, you have to have the passion, and you, again, just kind of the advice that I had gotten. So, stick to your gut, and you have to defend yourself and your position. So, be able to speak up, don't be afraid to have your opinions heard, don't be afraid to be wrong, and if you are wrong, I mean, that's life, right? We're all human, we're all gonna make mistakes, so as long as you just are... take accountability for it and learn from those actions. It's just going to get you higher and higher in the position that you want to be in.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Especially in franchising, this is... the biggest challenge is that everybody has their own opinions, right? So, obviously, we have a program that they sign on for, contract with us to open the business. And we want to make sure that people, all of our franchisees are staying on brand. They are, continuing with the program at task, but also being able to add in their own personality to it as well, but not too much, if that makes any sense. So kind of being able to find that happy medium with everybody.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family number one. Honesty. and leadership.
