Her Story

About Emma

I’m originally from Columbus, Ohio and a proud graduate of Butler University, where I earned my degree in Sports Marketing. After graduating in May 2023, I returned home to serve as my dad’s full-time caregiver following a spinal cord injury he sustained in October 2022 that left him paralyzed from the waist down. During that time, I was immersed in the world of adaptive sports and recreation, an experience that deeply shaped both my perspective and passion for ensuring individuals with disabilities have access to meaningful, inclusive recreation opportunities.

In June 2024, I moved to Milwaukee to begin my career in ticket sales with the Milwaukee Bucks. Shortly after relocating, I started volunteering with The Ability Center in October 2024, immediately connecting with its mission and impact. What began as volunteering quickly grew into something much more meaningful, ultimately leading me to my current role as Program & Social Media Manager.

Today, I’m grateful to combine my professional background in sports marketing with my personal experiences to help expand access to inclusive recreation and play. Supporting The Ability Center’s mission is not just my job, it’s a cause that’s close to my heart, and I’m passionate about helping create spaces where everyBODY has the opportunity to be active, included, and empowered through play.
