Her Interview

Ten minutes with Emma

01What do you attribute your success to?

I've always said I don't really care about what my title is or what my job is as long as it feels like I'm helping someone. In this role I can see the direct impact I'm having in lowering the cost of surgeries and getting everything more aligned for a facility so they can focus on patient care. It's truly being helpful and feeling like I've helped somebody even if it's just one person. I also need fun money to keep working and being successful so I have the time and money to give back to the hobbies and organizations important to me.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My mom told me to go into it with the confidence of a mediocre white man because if I didn't meet 100% of the qualifications I wouldn't apply. Apply for literally everything. Another one is finding your authentic voice and really finding a space that allows you to be yourself while still gaining professional experience and skills.
