Letheia, Inc.
Boca Raton, FL 33433

Emma Tropea is a mental health advocate, social media creator, and marketing professional dedicated to making emotional support more accessible for young people. She began creating content at just 17 years old, using platforms like TikTok and Instagram to openly share her experiences with mental health and bipolar disorder. What started as a personal outlet quickly grew into a community of more than 270,000 followers across social media. Emma’s content is rooted in authenticity and vulnerability, offering the kind of messages she once needed to hear herself—while helping thousands of teenagers and young adults feel less alone in their struggles.

Today, Emma serves as Director of Community and Creator Strategy at Letheia, Inc., a mental wellness startup focused on building accessible emotional support tools for Gen Z. After being approached by the company’s founder via LinkedIn, she joined as a partner in developing the Letheia app, which aims to provide meaningful mental health support without locking essential features behind paywalls. Passionate about impact over income, Emma works closely on community growth, creator partnerships, and brand voice, helping shape a platform designed to offer continuous, compassionate support.

Alongside her professional work, Emma has pursued formal education in entrepreneurship and marketing to strengthen her impact. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and is currently completing her Master of Science in Marketing at Florida International University. By combining lived experience, creative storytelling, and strategic marketing expertise, Emma bridges the gap between community-building and tangible mental health innovation—turning personal adversity into purposeful leadership.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success primarily to passion. I have always stayed true to myself, and once I discovered my deep interest in mental health and supporting others, I began making decisions that align with that passion. At our company, we prioritize impact over income. Even as a pre-funding startup, where no one is currently drawing a salary, our focus remains on developing an app that provides essential features to users without cost barriers. I firmly believe that when you identify your passion and pursue it with dedication, the financial rewards naturally follow.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received shaped how I approach opportunities: focus on finding a workplace where you feel respected and where you believe in the work. That mindset may not resonate with everyone, but I’ve found that when I pursue what I’m passionate about, the financial rewards naturally follow. I consistently seek environments where respect and alignment with my values exist, and if those aren’t present, I know it’s time to move on.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: be authentic. In both marketing and influencing, authenticity can feel rare. With so much noise—highlights, misinformation, and negativity constantly circulating—it’s easy to get lost. Staying true to yourself allows you to stand out, and it helps you find the spaces where you can truly excel.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think mental wellness is an industry probably already pretty saturated with women, but I think the more that mental health is talked about, the more opportunities for people to speak up, especially women. There's just so much we deal with on a daily basis, between assault, or mental health, or our periods that honestly ruin our mental health. I think there's room for women to grow in this industry because they understand it more than the average person.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I really value communication in all fields of life. I feel like you should be able to have a conversation. If there's something wrong, I really value people just talking to me about it. I just don't like games. At my age, a lot of people still have that high school or middle school mindset, but no, I just really value communication. I also really appreciate when people respect my ideas. I'm a talker, so I'm going to talk, and somewhere in there is a really good idea, so I appreciate when people respect that I have a different style of communication. I'm not very formal. I hate business clothes, I'm gonna be so real. I also value work ethic and having morals. I don't judge people based on their beliefs, I judge people based on their actions. As long as you can have a respectful conversation with me about whatever it is you believe in, we're gonna be totally fine. I really value being able to have an open-minded conversation with anyone who I'm working with or friends with.
