About Emmanuelle
Emmanuelle McCall is a journalist, communications professional, and independent media creator focused on social justice, human rights, and community engagement. With six years as a storyteller and three years in creative producing, she specializes in multimedia storytelling, documentary, and radio, grounded in analytical research. A graduate of Boston University's School of Communication with a double major in international relations and journalism, her early fieldwork included investigative reporting on housing violations in Boston for the Bay State Banner, which led to a city council ordinance targeting scoff law property owners. She serves as an interviewer and listener for The Listening Lab, a New York-based nonprofit, where she also develops a narrative-driven short documentary series, and she has contributed to the Youth Housing Alliance of New York addressing youth tenant rights. Her multicultural background, growing up between France and New York as a biracial French speaker, informs her commitment to storytelling that amplifies vulnerable communities.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being surrounded by inspiration from my upbringing, dual culture, academics, professors, and support from inspiring people and places.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was to not aim for an A+, but to shoot for a B+, an 80%. Also, that I don't have to choose one path.
