Her Story
About Emmi
Emmi Hasselbach is a mixed media artist with a focus on printmaking who has spent the past six years actively building her career in the arts. After earning her BFA in Studio Art, she pursued a master's degree at Stephen F. Austin with the initial goal of becoming a professor. While in graduate school, she curated shows, created individual bodies of work, applied to solo exhibitions and grants, and attended conferences and workshops to connect with the broader art community. Her artistic practice centers on themes of family, community, and history, drawing inspiration from her surroundings such as a family mobile home, and she aims for her work to resonate universally so viewers can see their own experiences reflected in it. In addition to making art, Emmi teaches and enjoys aspects of curating, installing exhibitions, and working in gallery settings, while maintaining a balanced approach to her professional life.
