Emmy Sardinas serves as a World Account Manager in the commercial insurance sector. Her career spans 27 years, during which she has developed extensive knowledge across multiple lines of coverage, including property and casualty, marine, hospitality, professional liability, E&O, surety bonds, workers' compensation, and umbrella policies. She earned her 220 license after beginning her career as an assistant and has taken on additional responsibilities such as training team members, leading presentations, and building a marine department at a previous employer. Sardinas is highly detail-oriented, values honesty and integrity, and attributes her success to her passion for insurance and her commitment to setting and achieving weekly goals, often working additional hours to ensure thoroughness. She advises young professionals entering the field to master coverages, proofread communications carefully, and pursue extra training as needed.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I love insurance. I'm the super person that can be on the beach, but I'm reading a policy to make sure everything's okay. I'm very work-oriented. I set goals for the week. And then, whatever I can't do, I do it at night, or if I go somewhere, like the beach, I'll take my computer and do what I have to do.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To be very detailed on my emails and proofread to make sure I didn't miss something or if I put something twice, or fix grammar.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be very detailed, like, proofread, and sound professional. They need to learn their coverages very well, because that way it would help them with supplemental apps and the Accord apps. It is a fulfilling job, but it's a high-paced environment and multitasking. Do extra training if they don't know very well.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Remote positions.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, full disclosure, full transparency. I'm very loyal. I am very detail-oriented. Values money because of my children and my husband.
