Enkhjin Enkhbold is an ambitious undergraduate student at the University of California, Riverside, pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering with a current 4.0 GPA. I attribute my success to a combination of seizing opportunities, being a quick learner, and having the unwavering support of my family. Growing up in a close-knit, open-minded household in Mongolia and Sweden taught me the value of communication, curiosity, and perseverance, which have guided me through each step of my education and career. Stepping into new roles, learning every aspect of operations, and being trusted with significant responsibilities have allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to embrace every opportunity, even when it feels intimidating, and to always stay curious and open to learning from those around you. Mentors and role models have shown me the importance of resilience, humility, and intentional growth, inspiring me to not only advance my career but also to uplift and guide others, especially young women navigating their own paths.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to step into every opportunity, even if it seems small or challenging. Each experience builds skills, perspective, and confidence, and even mistakes become valuable lessons that help you grow and achieve your goals.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in hospitality right now include managing complex projects and integrating new equipment in historic, fully operational properties while ensuring guest experiences remain seamless. At the same time, the industry offers incredible opportunities to develop leadership, problem-solving, and operational skills—especially when handling high-profile events or learning across multiple departments. Success requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to service excellence.
