Erica Leonor is a contractor development consultant and trainer with over 10 years of experience supporting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing professionals in elevating their businesses. She partners with contractors to strengthen customer service, improve operational strategy, and ensure a measurable return on investment from marketing efforts. As the CEO and Founder of Voxa and a Senior Director of Business Development for Goodleap, she works closely with industry partners to improve conversion rates, support financing conversations, and help contractors better serve their customers through clearer systems and stronger communication. At the core of Erica’s work is her focus on the power of voice—how leaders and teams communicate with customers, employees, and each other. She trains contractors on how they sound on the phone, how they lead can Monday morning meetings, and how they build trust through tone, clarity, and presence. In an era increasingly influenced by AI-generated content, Erica emphasizes that while technology can produce information, it cannot replicate human connection, empathy, or context. Her philosophy centers on helping professionals develop a confident, authentic voice as a key differentiator in the trades, where real relationships still drive success. Throughout her career, Erica has also been a strong advocate for leadership development and women in the skilled trades. She has served in industry leadership roles, including with organizations such as Women in HVACR and NATE, and continues to mentor professionals across the country. Known for her energetic speaking style and practical training approach, she blends strategy with motivation to help teams grow both professionally and personally. Outside of work, she is a mother, wife, and cancer survivor who values faith, family, and community, and she often shares how these experiences have shaped her commitment to helping others lead with purpose and authenticity.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to real-world experience that I often refer to as my “University of Life.” I have learned through hands-on challenges, professional growth, and personal responsibility rather than a single traditional path. At the core of my success is a commitment to serving others and helping people elevate their own abilities, particularly by strengthening and honoring their authentic voice. I also believe that maintaining balance in my life as a mother has grounded my perspective and strengthened my ability to connect with and support others in a meaningful way.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that I can build a meaningful, successful career without having to sacrifice my personal life. I’ve learned that it is absolutely possible to be a dedicated wife, an engaged mother, and a thriving business owner and operator at the same time. That perspective has shaped how I approach both my work and my family life, and it continues to remind me that success is not about choosing one path over another, but about creating balance and intention across all areas of my life.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to remain open to opportunities in all areas of the industry, including blue-collar trades, where there is significant room for growth and leadership. Confidence is essential—especially in learning how to use your voice effectively and stand firmly in your expertise. I also believe it is important for women to support one another, actively uplift each other, and help create pathways for more women to step into leadership roles.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest shifts in my field is the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. While AI is a powerful tool for generating content and improving efficiency, it cannot replace genuine human connection or authentic communication. This presents both a challenge and an opportunity: professionals who rely solely on automation may lose their distinctiveness, while those who prioritize real voice, trust, and human-centered communication will stand out and create deeper impact.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me most are authenticity, human connection, and service to others. I am deeply committed to empowering people—especially women—to recognize and use their voice with confidence. My family is also central to my life and informs many of my decisions and priorities. In addition, I value community involvement and faith, which keep me grounded and aligned with a purpose-driven approach to both my personal and professional life.
