I've been working in the paralegal field since 2013, giving me 13 years of experience in my current role. Before I went to school, I used to do real estate - I wasn't a realtor, but I was a transaction coordinator working for a realtor. But that wasn't the career path that I wanted. I always wanted to work in law, so when I went to school, I graduated with a degree in criminal justice, and life led me to work in law. I'm part of one of the big trial teams at my firm, and we handle personal injury cases, sexual abuse cases where we represent clients who've been sexually abused, and wrongful death cases. We represent victims, and we basically hold their hand through the whole claim process. If we have to file with the court, then we proceed in doing that. I know how to do work in the pre-litigation stage of the case and also the litigation stage of the case. It's a lot of work, but I love it. My most notable professional achievement so far has been being promoted to litigation paralegal.
