Her Story

About Erica

I’m Erica Williams, an entrepreneur, travel advisor, author, and creator passionate about building businesses that help women and professionals create more freedom, confidence, and opportunity in their lives.

My entrepreneurial journey spans digital publishing, travel, healthcare career resources, and women-centered personal development. Through Lux Digitals, I create e-books, planners, workbooks, and educational resources designed to encourage self-care, personal growth, confidence, and entrepreneurship. As a travel advisor, I help individuals and groups turn meaningful moments into thoughtfully planned travel experiences.

I’m also building MedTravel Connect, a platform focused on connecting healthcare professionals with career, travel, relocation, and professional development opportunities.

Outside of business, writing has become another important part of my work. My forthcoming book, You Are My Hero, explores postpartum depression, motherhood, identity, and the emotional experiences many women are afraid to say out loud.

At the heart of everything I create is one goal: to help women see that they can build a life that includes ambition, healing, family, purpose, and freedom without having to choose only one version of themselves.

Ten minutes with Erica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, faith, adaptability, and a willingness to keep learning and evolving. I have learned that success rarely comes from having everything figured out from the beginning. It comes from being willing to start, make adjustments, and continue moving forward even when the path changes.

I am also intentional about creating opportunities rather than waiting for them. Whether I am developing a new business idea, building professional relationships, creating resources, or expanding into a new industry, I try to remain curious and open to growth.

Most importantly, I define success as more than financial achievement. For me, it means building work that has purpose, creating greater freedom for my family, and using what I learn along the way to encourage and create opportunities for other women.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is not to wait until I feel completely ready before taking the next step. Growth often happens when you move beyond what feels familiar, trust what you have learned, and give yourself permission to figure things out along the way.

That advice has helped me embrace new opportunities, build businesses in different industries, and stay open to reinvention. I’ve learned that confidence is often built after you take action, not before.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering my industry to build confidence through action, stay curious, and never underestimate the value of relationships. You do not have to know everything before you begin. Learn as much as you can, ask questions, find mentors, and be willing to grow as the industry changes.

I would also encourage them to create opportunities instead of waiting to be chosen. Your ideas, perspective, and experiences can become real assets when you are willing to develop them and share them.

Most importantly, protect your vision. Success does not have to look the same for everyone. Build a career that reflects your values, supports the life you want, and gives you room to evolve.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is standing out in a crowded and fast-changing marketplace. Technology, social media, and AI have created incredible opportunities, but they have also raised expectations. Clients and consumers want faster service, more personalized experiences, and brands they can genuinely trust.

At the same time, I see enormous opportunity for entrepreneurs who are willing to adapt. There is growing demand for personalized services, digital education, career support, wellness-focused resources, and meaningful travel experiences.

I believe the biggest opportunity is in combining technology with genuine human connection. The businesses that will thrive are the ones that use new tools to become more efficient without losing the personal relationships, empathy, and trust that make people want to work with them.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are integrity, faith, family, growth, and service. I want the work I create to be meaningful, trustworthy, and genuinely helpful to the people I serve.

I also value freedom and balance. Success, to me, is not just about building profitable businesses. It is about creating a life where I can be present for my family, continue growing personally and professionally, and still have the flexibility to enjoy what I am building.

Above all, I believe in treating people with respect, leading with compassion, and creating opportunities that can make a positive difference in someone else’s life.
