Ericka Hill
Ericka Hill is an accomplished Purchasing Manager at Stone Manor Homes, with a dynamic 25-year career in the home building industry. She began her journey at Guillen Homes as a starts coordinator, managing permits and pre-construction processes, before discovering her true passion in purchasing at Meritage. Her expertise in procurement, vendor relationships, and process management quickly became evident, leading to leadership roles at GreenCo, Ravenna Homes, and LEVELTX Corp, where she developed and refined purchasing departments, implemented efficient systems, and drove cost-saving initiatives.
At Ravenna Homes, Ericka demonstrated her strategic impact by building the company’s purchasing department from the ground up, implementing new procurement software, and recovering approximately $70,000 in duplicate payments through careful auditing and process improvements. Today, at Stone Manor Homes (formerly Stonefield Houston), she oversees all purchasing operations, including vendor vetting, contract negotiation, and purchase order management. Her work ensures that each home is built efficiently, on budget, and with high-quality standards, all while managing the transition from the former company to the new brand.
Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Ericka is deeply invested in the home building community. She serves on the Boards of Directors for the Greater Houston Builders Association and the Texas Association of Builders, is part of the National Association of Home Builders Leadership Council, and actively participates in Professional Women in Building. Recognized nationally for her leadership, she graduated from NAHB’s Leadership Academy in 2026, one of only 15 participants selected across the country. Passionate about mentoring young professionals and giving back to the community, Ericka also contributes to organizations like Homemade Houston, Habitat for Humanity, and Isaiah 117 House, championing programs that support women, children, and families.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to curiosity, diligence, and a willingness to tackle challenges head-on. In 2019 at Ravenna Homes, I built a purchasing department from scratch—implementing a new software system, putting the right team in place, and streamlining operations. While auditing invoices, I discovered double and triple payments to multiple trades, ultimately recovering about $70,000.
That experience taught me the value of asking questions, examining assumptions, and improving systems. Over 25 years in this industry, I’ve also learned that leadership is about building, guiding, and fostering strong relationships—connections with vendors and colleagues that make the work rewarding and meaningful.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most impactful career lesson I’ve learned came from the NAHB Leadership Academy, which I completed in February 2026. It completely changed how I approach networking—I realized I had been doing it the wrong way for years. The training gave me tools and perspectives I now apply not just in my career but in everyday interactions, showing me that even skills I thought I had mastered can always be improved.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: put yourself out there early and go after every opportunity you want. Don’t wait—I started advocating and building relationships in my 30s, and I wish I had begun sooner. Get involved in events, make your name known, and fight for your seat at the table. This industry can be male-dominated, but once you earn your place, your impact will be lasting.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in this industry is that it has historically been male-dominated, and women often have to fight to earn a seat at the table. The opportunity lies in proving our value and ensuring we stay there. Organizations like Professional Women in Building are vital because they empower women, increase visibility, and help create lasting change—not just for ourselves, but for the next generation of women entering the field.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Organization is one of my core values, as it allows me to manage complex operations, serve on multiple boards, and stay engaged in the community. I also deeply value giving back—through nonprofits like Isaiah 117 House, Homemade Houston, and Habitat for Humanity—and cultivating meaningful relationships, both with vendors and colleagues. Finally, family is central to my life; balancing work, community involvement, and family requires organization, commitment, and staying grounded in what truly matters.
