Erika Jauregui, M.A., is a digital marketing professional serving as Digital Marketing Manager, Enrollment Strategy, at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. With a career in marketing spanning more than eight years, Erika specializes in developing data-driven digital strategies that support enrollment, engagement, and growth. Her expertise includes SEO/SEM, website development, content creation, social media, paid digital campaigns, email marketing, analytics, and audience strategy. She previously worked in marketing at Financial Center Credit Union and has progressed through several marketing and enrollment-focused roles at the University of the Pacific.

Alongside her marketing career, Erika is an adjunct associate professor at San Joaquin Delta College, where she teaches public speaking. Her background in communication and speech and debate has shaped her ability to connect with diverse audiences and communicate effectively across professional and academic settings. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of the Pacific and a Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from California State University-Sacramento, where she also served as a graduate teaching assistant and assistant coach for the speech and debate team.

Erika is also passionate about leadership, community, and creating inclusive environments. She previously served as Chair of the University of the Pacific’s Staff Advisory Council and has contributed to university committees focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and institutional priorities. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active through strength training, hiking, and spending time outdoors, having previously competed in powerlifting for three years. She also enjoys helping at her friends’ family winery during weekends and special events, creating arts-and-crafts experiences with friends, and gathering regularly with her extended family.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the mentors I had in community college and my experience on the speech and debate team, which inspired me to help students discover and develop their own potential.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is that networking is essential, but it should go beyond surface-level connections. Building genuine relationships with colleagues and others who can make a meaningful difference is what truly matters.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to overcome imposter syndrome, find a supportive community and mentor, build meaningful connections, and most importantly, believe in themselves and their abilities.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is accommodating each student’s individual needs while ensuring fairness and equity for everyone in the classroom.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are empathy, emotional intelligence, perseverance, compassion, a strong work ethic, and having genuine passion for what I do.
