Erika Throckmorton serves as Associate Director of Marketing at Advance Partners in the staffing industry. With 9 years of experience in the field, her key responsibilities include managing sponsorships, trade show logistics, event coordination, and presentations. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Marketing and Communications from John Carroll University in 2016. Among her notable achievements is executing successful events that helped secure a million-dollar client for the sales team. Throckmorton has been recognized with a dedication of service award and a Visionary Award for marketing innovation in approximately 2024. She contributes to philanthropic initiatives through Advance Partners by supporting The Gathering Place, which raises funds for cancer research. Throckmorton attributes her success to her dedicated team, strong leadership at the company, her faith, and her commitment to providing for her family. She values integrity, trust, and respect in both her professional and personal life. In her view, the staffing industry presents ongoing challenges and opportunities due to evolving legislation and regulations, which also drive continuous growth and learning.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I have a great team, great manager, there is great leadership at the company I work for. I'm driven by my faith and my family, to provide for my kids, to be a good partner to my husband, to provide a good life for them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never stop understanding why it's so important to learn. You never want to be afraid to learn more, ask more questions. You never want to be the smartest person in the room. Or worse, you never want to think you're the smartest person in the room.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get involved, make the connections. That's going to help you, and staffing specifically is all about who you know, and you want to be connected.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenge is it's always growing and changing, which could also be an opportunity. For example, when there is an election, the legislation changes, you have to make sure your clients and yourself are kept up to date with those laws and regulation changes as those impact the staffing industry heavily. So, the challenge is just keeping up with things. But that also is a blessing in disguise, because things are never the same, things are always changing, there's always going to be room for more growth and opportunity.
