Her Story
About Erika
I've been working in the IT field for about 8 years now, and I've been in my current position as an IT analyst for about a year and a half. I started my career as a basic Tier 1 tech support and worked my way up over the years. Currently, I'm enrolled in my master's in IT at University of Phoenix, which has really influenced where I am now and where I want to be in my career. A typical day for me starts with a morning meeting with all the phone reps, QA, and everyone on our team to touch base about the day prior, review our projections, and see what our numbers are looking like. After that, I check emails to see if there are any tickets that have been escalated or any escalations to take care of. Then I check in with each team to see where we're at and if they need any assistance with anything. Beyond my professional work, I founded a nonprofit called Another Chance, Inc. in 2021, which helps single parents and their children and the elderly with basic outreach things like food, clothing, and assistance with bills. We also try to do activities for the kids like field days. Balancing my full-time work, my master's program, my nonprofit, and raising four children has been challenging, but I'm proud to be in my third-to-last class before finishing my degree, with a projected graduation date of December 2026.
