About Erika
She is a victim services, case management, employment support, and social services professional with experience in client advocacy, care coordination, training support, communication, youth and family services, and community-based support. She currently serves as Victim Services Director at District 4 HRDC. Previously, she held roles as an Employment and Training Specialist with Rural Employment Opportunities and Lead Care Manager with Youth Dynamics. She also serves as a CASA board member.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Hard work, perseverance, and the unending desire to help others
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Define what success means to you personally and then go out and work hard to get it. Advocate for yourself. When someone compliments you, believe them. Never underestimate the power you already have.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just start. There is no right time or perfect situation. There is no wrong time to start helping others.
Learn and maintain boundaries. They will save your life.
They mean it when they say you can’t pour from an empty cup.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Funding diversity, general instability, and uncertainty, as well as rapidly increasing need are the biggest challenges in the field at this time.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both work and personal life, I most value honesty, integrity, and accountability.
