Her Interview
Ten minutes with Erika
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to prayer. It grounds me, gives me clarity when decisions are difficult, and reminds me to lead with humility and purpose. I also credit the people who have supported and challenged me throughout my career, along with a willingness to keep learning. In customer success, I’ve found that listening carefully, following through on commitments, and bringing people together around a shared goal build the trust needed to achieve lasting results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to persevere. A setback can feel defining in the moment, but it does not determine what you’re capable of achieving. I’ve also learned to stay open to feedback, keep building my skills, and nurture genuine relationships. Perseverance gives you the strength to continue; learning and the people around you help you grow along the way.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be curious, ask questions, and never feel that you must know everything before you belong in the room. Technology changes constantly, so your ability to learn, listen, and connect technical work to people’s goals matters as much as what you know today. Find mentors, build relationships across teams, and speak up about the value you bring. There will be setbacks; persevere, keep developing your skills, and make room for other women as you advance.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in customer success is proving that a technology investment is delivering the outcomes a customer expected. Adoption alone does not tell the whole story. We need to understand the customer’s goals, spot risks early, and show how the work contributes to measurable business value.
AI creates a significant opportunity to identify patterns, reduce routine work, and give teams more time for strategic conversations. The challenge is using it responsibly, with reliable data and human judgment. I believe the strongest customer success teams will combine those capabilities with genuine relationships to help customers achieve results they can see and sustain.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith is the foundation of my values. Prayer helps me approach both my work and personal life with gratitude, humility, and purpose. I also value integrity, compassion, and perseverance. At work, that means being honest, following through on my commitments, and treating people with respect, especially when challenges arise. In my personal life, it means being present for the people I love, extending grace to others, and continuing to grow through every season.
