Her Interview

Ten minutes with Erika

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying focused on what I want, pursuing your dreams, having a strong work ethic, being on time, being available when people need you, having a positive attitude, and waking up thankful for what you have while working towards your goals.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received was to follow your dreams, never give up on your dreams, follow your heart, keep studying and never stop. Don't let anybody put you down. You can do everything that you set your mind to.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women to stay focused, create goals every week, make short-term goals to reach your long-term goal, don't lose focus, stay strong, don't get distracted, and remember that things will not be easy but everything is going to be worth it at the end.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

In my field within business there are so many opportunities because business is very wide and you can branch out to many different areas. The key is to focus your energy and time to educate yourself continuously, just like doctors learn new technology and procedures, to keep growing.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me are being ethical, honest, transparent, fair, empathetic, and having good communication and morals. In management you have to listen to both sides before making decisions, and in personal life follow the morals taught by parents and show good communication, morals, and honesty to my children.
