Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the decades I’ve spent immersing myself in food and beverage, hospitality, tourism, and travel — industries that taught me how meaningful human connection can be. Over the years, my passion for travel, food, wine, and wellness aligned with my desire to support people through life’s transitions, allowing me to build a career rooted in empathy, expertise, and service. I’m especially proud of the work I do with breast cancer survivors, helping them create trips that bring hope, healing, and celebration, and giving back through donations that support their journey.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to build a career around what genuinely lights you up, not what simply looks impressive from the outside, because passion will carry you through the seasons when the work isn’t glamorous. Lead with service rather than sales and remember that when you focus on helping people first, the right clients and opportunities will follow — and don’t forget to keep expanding your network and resources along the way.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in travel right now is balancing the perception of a glamorous industry with the reality of its demands: endurance, constant learning, and community-building. External factors like government shutdowns, political uncertainty, and global events can change clients’ plans overnight, and many travelers still rely on self-booking platforms like Expedia, which lack the personalized guidance and human touch a travel advisor provides.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values I hold most important in my work and personal life are compassion, empathy, and curiosity. They guide me in creating meaningful, personalized travel experiences that go beyond what online booking engines can offer, ensuring every traveler feels truly heard and cared for.
