Ten minutes with Esmeralda
01What do you attribute your success to?
Being genuine and always wanting to learn. People see that I am genuine and that I want to learn, which instills trust. My goal is to learn as much as I can, making me malleable and able to continue moving forward while being trusted.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
From my supervisor: anyone can learn it. This instilled confidence. From my stepdad: when starting a business, stress and problems continue but they are a beautiful problem to have, a blessing.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't get dissuaded by feeling like an outlier or that your personality doesn't fit in. Be different, grow in that, pave your own path, trust in your path. Be genuine with yourself and confident in your authenticity.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Not getting overwhelmed, managing perspective especially with panic disorder. Shifting from overwhelm to excitement about opportunities to learn and improve. New challenges arise as business grows, including slow seasons in tree business.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being congruent or genuine to build trust and relationships. Working hard and doing your best. Aligning work with what you genuinely want to do.
