Esra Vural

Esra Vural is a Principal AI Engineer at Abbott, based in Santa Clara, California, with a strong academic and professional background in computer science, machine learning, and computer vision. She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Sabanci University, and she has conducted postdoctoral research at Clarkson University, where she focused on biometric authentication using behavioral and physiological signals. Esra has built a reputation for applying advanced AI technologies to real-world problems in healthcare, biometrics, and human-computer interaction.

With over a decade of experience, including a notable tenure as a Senior Engineer at Qualcomm, Esra has contributed to both academic and industry innovations. Her work includes patents in user authentication and fingerprint imaging, and she’s actively published in areas such as facial behavior analysis and driver drowsiness detection. Passionate about fostering diversity in tech, she also serves as the Treasurer for Qualcomm Women in Science and Engineering Bay Area.
