Her Story
About Estefania
Estefania is a processor in the mortgage industry with 7 years of experience. She entered the field after working in retail when a colleague connected her to a clerical position at a mortgage company. Starting as an assistant to a processor, her early responsibilities included ordering appraisals, tax transcripts, and verifications of employment. She later advanced to processor after initially declining the role three times, ultimately embracing it to handle the full operational aspects of loan applications. In this capacity, Estefania acts as the intermediary between underwriters and customers, managing income documentation, addressing issues in files, and reaching out to employers to resolve underwriter questions. She takes particular pride in guiding difficult files to approval, enabling clients to achieve homeownership. As an immigrant, Estefania speaks fluent Spanish, which allows her to support more customers effectively. Without a college degree, she succeeded through determination and self-belief, proving to her father that opportunities exist outside of traditional higher education.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If your gut is telling you that it's not right, really look into that, and that even if it seems like nothing is going right, or things are not panning out the way you're planning to, life is leading you to where you need to be. Everything happens for a reason, even if it's horrible at that moment.
