About Estelle
Estelle Strother, LMT, is the Founder and Owner of Metamorphosis Massage LLC, where she is dedicated to transforming the way individuals experience healing through medical massage therapy and holistic pain management. A licensed massage therapist with expertise in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, oncology massage, and sports massage, Estelle takes an evidence-based, client-centered approach to care. Her philosophy centers on identifying and addressing the root causes of pain rather than simply managing symptoms, empowering clients to restore function, improve mobility, and achieve lasting wellness. She is especially passionate about serving individuals living with chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, and complex musculoskeletal challenges through personalized, adaptive treatment plans. Estelle's commitment to holistic healing is deeply rooted in her own life experiences. Living with autism and ADHD, she experienced chronic pain from an early age and endured a challenging childhood marked by multiple life-threatening illnesses and health complications. After finding that conventional treatments often focused primarily on symptom management, she began exploring holistic approaches that ultimately helped her achieve remission from her autoimmune conditions and fundamentally changed her perspective on health and healing. Her passion for therapeutic touch began in childhood, when she instinctively provided massages to family members, including her aunt, and discovered the profound impact of understanding soft tissue pain. Those experiences inspired her to pursue massage therapy professionally and ultimately establish Metamorphosis Massage LLC to address gaps in care for individuals whose pain is frequently misunderstood or overlooked. Since founding Metamorphosis Massage LLC in 2020, Estelle has successfully combined clinical expertise with entrepreneurial leadership, managing every aspect of the practice, including patient care, business operations, marketing, insurance coordination, and strategic growth. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy from Heritage College and also holds an associate's degree in business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the University of Phoenix. In addition to her clinical practice, she is the author of Undress To My… What Now?! The Guide for a Massage Noob, an educational resource that helps individuals better understand the therapeutic massage experience. Combining those resources with a YouTube channel to increase the educational resources available in a way to encourage empowerment in healing for even bigger audience. Through her practice, writing, and advocacy, Estelle remains committed to advancing a more compassionate, evidence-informed approach to pain management, helping clients improve their quality of life by addressing the underlying causes of pain and supporting the body's natural capacity to heal.

Ten minutes with Estelle
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having the support of the right people at pivotal moments in my journey, like my wife Rachel, while also developing the resilience to persevere when that support was not available. Every challenge strengthened my determination to keep moving forward, even during uncertain and difficult times. Above all, I have remained committed to leading with authenticity, integrity, and genuine compassion. Building my career and business required courage, especially when stepping into the unknown, but embracing that vulnerability allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. I believe that success comes from staying true to your values, being willing to face fear with confidence, and continuing to serve others with purpose and heart.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received came from reframing something that was once used against me. Growing up, people often called me "weird," but I later learned that the word's historical origins are associated with fate and the power to shape one's own destiny. That realization transformed my perspective. Instead of seeing being different as a weakness, I embraced it as a strength. It reminded me that innovation, authenticity, and meaningful change often come from those who are willing to think differently and forge their own path. I've carried that mindset throughout my career, allowing it to guide both my personal growth and my commitment to helping others.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to know who you are and stay grounded in your purpose. As a healthcare professional, you will often meet people during some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives, and the work can be both emotionally and physically demanding, especially early in your career. Stay connected to your "why" the reason you chose this path and let it guide your decisions, your resilience, and your compassion. When you remain authentic, establish healthy boundaries, and keep your values at the center of your work, you will build a meaningful career that positively impacts the lives of others.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the massage therapy profession is balancing standardized approaches with the individualized care that clients truly need. While larger franchises often rely on uniform treatment models for consistency, every person's body is unique and can change from one session to the next, making adaptability essential for safe and effective care. This creates a significant opportunity for independent practitioners and small businesses to provide personalized, evidence-informed treatment plans that address each client's specific needs. At the same time, entering the profession can be difficult for new graduates, as building a loyal client base and establishing credibility takes time, persistence, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional, relationship-centered care.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally, are compassion, authenticity, and celebrating progress. My greatest reward is seeing clients regain their quality of life and achieve meaningful improvements in their health. I believe success isn't measured by how often someone needs treatment, but by how well they recover and regain independence. When clients return because they've reached new milestones rather than because they're struggling, it's an opportunity to celebrate their progress together. Helping others heal, empowering them to thrive, and recognizing every step forward are the principles that guide both my work and my life.
