About Eulanda
Eulanda Sanders, PhD, serves as a professor at Iowa State University in fashion, merchandising, and design, a role she has held as part of her 35-year faculty career that also included serving as department chair of apparel, events, and hospitality management and as founding director of Women's Studies and Gender Research at Colorado State University. She is the founder of Innovation Insights LLC in Ames, Iowa, a coaching and consulting firm that assists clients with career storytelling, resume writing, LinkedIn profiles, and content creation using innovation and storytelling techniques, and she operates additional ventures such as a podcast, digital and physical retail stores, Yo Fan Studios design firm, and the AI Textile Design Lab online community. Dr. Sanders earned an AA degree from a community college in southeastern Colorado between 1985 and 1987, a bachelor's of science in fashion design from Colorado State University completed in 1990, a master's in fashion design from the same institution between 1990 and 1994, and a doctorate in fashion design from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln between 1994 and 1997. She is a member of the International Textile and Apparel Association and the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Resort Management (iCree), and she previously served on the board of the George Washington Carver Monument in Joplin, Missouri. She attributes her success to her parents and values integrity, community, inclusivity, and helping others, while advising professionals to document their work thoroughly and to pursue continuous learning especially in technology and AI.

Be passionate about what you're doing. Give 100% to whatever you're doing.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Document, document, document everything that you do so you can tell your story in a variety of ways professionally, and also to help navigate difficult situations.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
People are not sure about the future with a lot of uncertainty. The biggest opportunity is to keep learning as much as you can, especially about technology and AI.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, community, and being inclusive. Just really helping people.
