Her Story
About Eva
Eva Pierre has dedicated more than 15 years to the field of nutrition education, drawing from a family background in healthcare and personal experiences with chronic diseases to pursue wellness and health promotion. She earned her bachelor's degree in Applied Nutrition from UMass Lowell after transferring from other institutions and later obtained her master's degree in Applied Nutrition from Northeastern University. In addition to her academic achievements, Eva secured certifications as a wellness coach and in health and wellness as well as workplace wellness during her time working in corporate wellness within HR at a company called PTC. Her career has included grant-funded positions with nonprofits focused on nutrition education and health promotion, along with maintaining a private practice involving one-on-one consultations and small group work. Eva has also contributed as a fitness instructor and personal trainer at several gyms in the Boston area for over 15 years. She remains engaged with professional organizations including the Boston Organization of Nutritionists and Dietitians of Color (BOND), the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, NAVADON, and holds honorary membership in the Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition. Through BOND, she volunteers by speaking in high schools and colleges to inspire the next generation in the nutrition field. Eva was invited to speak at an event for the MI MS Foundation on nutrition and wellness for individuals experiencing MS, an experience she considers a highlight of her work. Currently, she focuses on management aspects as she explores her next business venture while continuing contract work.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell them to really follow their hearts and in terms of what it is that they really want to do. Follow their heart and really cut out all of the noise as far as what is expected of them. Make sure that you do something that even if you're not getting paid for it you would still do it. That's where passion comes in.
