About Evelyn

Dedicated housing and human services leader with more than a decade of experience in homelessness services, shelter operations, housing placement, supportive housing programs, crisis intervention, and community advocacy. Currently serving as Director of Housing Navigation at Roof Above, leading efforts to connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness with stable housing solutions, supportive services, and community resources.

Previously served as Supervisor for Crisis Text Line, providing leadership and oversight within a remote crisis support environment. Also held leadership roles with The Salvation Army as Program Manager of Shelter Operations and Program Supervisor, managing shelter services, operational performance, staff supervision, and client support programs.

Prior to relocating to North Carolina, spent over 11 years with Project Renewal in progressively responsible positions including Assistant Shelter Director, Housing Coordinator, Scatter Site Apartment Coordinator, Peer Counselor, and Front Desk Attendant. Developed extensive expertise in housing navigation, supportive housing placement, landlord relations, shelter administration, case coordination, housing quality compliance, client advocacy, staff development, crisis management, and program operations. Successfully supported hundreds of individuals in securing stable housing while maintaining strong partnerships with housing providers, government agencies, and community organizations.

In addition to professional roles, served as an independent Community Advocate for over eight years, organizing school supply drives, winter clothing initiatives, food distribution efforts, and community events that supported underserved families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
