Ten minutes with Evette

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my family and my four boys. I want to show them that we have to get up and go, be organized, and have our schedule. I feel like God saw me as a superwoman so I gotta keep that role as a superwoman and keep pushing. My family, my boys, and God are my biggest inspiration.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My director, Liz Janeway, guided and coached me through this new position. She took a chance on me even though sales was new to me, and helped me grow into the professional person that I am.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be discouraged. Have that confidence to just go out and present yourself in front of a client. You really just have to sell yourself and know what it is that you're selling, and don't ever feel discouraged, because the worst you could get is a no, so you just keep going, and you're gonna get more yeses than more noes.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Being one person overseeing several locations, I sometimes feel like I'm being tugged here and there. I am very hands-on with my team and get discouraged when I can't be in multiple places at once, like when one store needs help but I'm all the way in Burleson and can't be in Wiley.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being truthful, being vocal, and just kind of being present. Always being there for somebody, being present, being truthful, hardworking, keeping your mindset, trusting your instinct, and just keep pushing.
