Her Interview

Ten minutes with Fachon

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to more than 25 years of experience in responsible sourcing and social compliance, combined with a genuine passion for ensuring the fair treatment of workers. My career began in training and developed into social compliance and responsible sourcing, where I have continued to learn, adapt, and take on increasingly complex responsibilities.

I have remained committed to understanding factory operations, conducting and reviewing audits, developing corrective action plans, maintaining strong relationships with factories and vendors, and staying informed about evolving compliance and sustainability requirements. I believe my willingness to serve as a resource for others, solve problems collaboratively, and continuously develop my knowledge has been central to my professional growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The most valuable influences on my career have been my education and the example set by my parents, who were important mentors to me. My mother worked as a speech pathologist and my father worked in human resources, and both demonstrated the importance of helping others and contributing meaningfully to their professional and personal communities.

Their influence reinforced my desire to help others succeed and to be a supportive resource throughout their professional journeys. I have carried that philosophy throughout my own career by sharing my knowledge, supporting colleagues and partners, and helping others develop professionally.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to always give back to others while continuing to make time for themselves. Supporting others and contributing to the community can be incredibly meaningful, and I have experienced that personally through my volunteer work with CarePartners.

I also encourage the next generation to maintain interests and activities outside of work. Whether through reading, traveling to experience different cultures, or pursuing personal hobbies, making time for yourself can provide balance and perspective while building a fulfilling career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities and challenges in responsible sourcing is keeping pace with continuous change, particularly advances in technology. As technology evolves, professionals in the field must remain informed and adaptable so they can understand how new developments affect supply chain management, compliance, sustainability, and responsible sourcing practices.

For me, this means continually learning, staying current with developments in the industry, and looking for ways technology can strengthen responsible sourcing programs and improve how companies identify and address risks.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Transparency, integrity, and meaningful communication are important values in my work and personal life. In responsible sourcing, I believe it is essential to maintain open and transparent communication with factories, vendors, internal stakeholders, and other partners, particularly when addressing compliance concerns or difficult decisions such as potential factory exits.

I also value practical problem-solving and collaboration. One of my most meaningful professional achievements was implementing a worker committee system that improved communication between workers and management. The approach helped support greater efficiency, worker retention, and morale while enabling factory managers to develop practical solutions without relying on external consultants.

I am also committed to helping others and giving back to my community. My volunteer work with seniors reflects that commitment and reinforces the importance I place on service, relationships, and making a positive difference.
