Her Story
About Faezeh
I have been in electrical engineering for over 20 years, and the field has changed quite a bit during that time. Since 2018, my work has been more focused on industry applications, including consumer electronics, and since last year, it has been totally focused on consumer electronics. I work as an embedded expert, and my employer produces different engineering software for different engineering disciplines. I support one of them, which is related to high-frequency electromagnetic simulation. Right now, I'm mostly focused on applications within electromagnetic compatibility and interference, which relates to the safety of devices and meeting standards for consumer electronic devices. I support this tool that helps engineers meet their standards and ensure the safety of electronic devices. I have a PhD in electrical engineering, and my focus has been on electromagnetic waves, specifically high-frequency electromagnetic waves. I started focusing on electromagnetic waves in 2003 during the last year of my bachelor's degree, and then continued through my master's, my PhD, and my work. Since then, the focus has all been on that field.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering the industry that they don't need to struggle much with whether they're a woman or man within the industry. They should just do their best and also believe in themselves as they move forward.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI is both the biggest challenge and the best opportunity in my field right now. It's quite a challenge in the sense that many people are concerned about the stability of their jobs as AI is making more advances in all fields. At the same time, it is also a big opportunity for those who want to make use of AI and actually become experts around that field, and how they can incorporate it within their own specific fields. So it's probably, at the same time, the biggest challenge and best opportunity.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I want to be pro-life, so supporting life. And peace. Obviously, whatever is pro-life should be aligned with peace, but I'm just emphasizing it because right now things are not going that well around the world, so that's why I'm emphasizing peace. I also care about nature, sustainability, and human consciousness.
